Mexico and US working to preserve the Monarch Butterfly and Vaquita Whale

The head of the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), Rafael Pacchiano Alaman, reiterated his willingness to work with the United States on environmental issues of importance to both nations, especially conservation of the Vaquita Whale and the Monarch Butterfly.

During a working visit to Washington, DC, he held a bilateral meeting with Secretary of the Interior Department, Sally Jewell, where he highlighted the collaboration to increase the population of the vaquita and totoaba marine life.
